Vacation Mode

Situation: I’m playing a fair number of games and manage to complete all but 6 of them before I go on a 7 day cruise with no internet access. Everyone in those 6 games will have to put up with three 24 hour delays while my clock runs out ! That is not fair to the other players !

Would you consider a “Vacation Mode” setting that would automatically take your turn for you so the others do not have to wait?

It would be nice if the mode had a selectable method of handling every game, not a different way per game:
1. Ignore the turn completely.
2. Ignore the turn and accumulate troops for the next turn you take
3. Accumulate troops on the largest stack you own
4. Distribute troops, one each per stack starting with smallest stack.
5. Etc

I realize that the true answer is not to be in games you can’t finish. But, how do you judge that. Some games seem to take forever because other players are missing turns.

When you get home you go into your control Panel and switch back to Live Play!

The true answer is to find an account sitter to watch your games during your 7 day cruise with no internet access. You've found your way to the forums, so you can find an account sitter at Callouts. I prefer to have a sitter I already know, like a regular teammate. But that's all up to you.

Pretty good idea i think. Im in a clan who sit for each other when we are on our holidays but sometimes games slip through the net.
To take the idea one step further: Could it be introduced that when players miss a turn instead of a chance to stack up your numbers where they are most needed they are spread out.. ie like when you miss deploying on manual spoils you get 3 on each region, this could possibly then stop intentional deadbeaters that use deferred troops to their advantage.
Not everyone can get a sitter so the vacation mode seems a sensible idea. 8-)

Thanks Chewie,

The part I like most about vacation mode is that the delay to others is zero. The instant it is your turn, if vacation is set, the automatic -- whatever it is -- is performed and the next player can move immediately.

Yes I agree a game sitter is best, but not always feasable unless you are in a group.

PS: I am in a group at work, 3 other players who got me started in CC. The suggestion was not for myself, it was for others so we all don't have to wait 24 hours when someone is on vacation.

I think its a decent idea. But I cant see anything coming from it. The best bet is still going to be having a friend sit on your games. If it is only 6 games it should be very quick and easy.
