unfair lockout after opponent times out.

Postby chiefmojorison on Fri Oct 01, 2010 9:30 pm

I just ran into an unfair consequence of locking out a player in a freestyle game. in game 7701183 my opponent failed to make his turn in the 24 hours allowed. However, I am not allowed to make my next turn until he has made his because I had closed the round two turns earlier. in effect, this allows the player who missed his turn to make a turn before me and deploy his troops from the round he missed. Missing a turn should nullify lockout as I must wait 36 hours to make my next turn.

I realize this lockout was to prevent someone from not closing his turn in order to take the next turn as soon as time ran out, but this can be equally as bad in a critical moment.

This is how it goes. This is used to stop players from, in essence, getting back to back turns. imagine in a game with 5 players, you notice Player D hasn't logged on in a while, and is gonna miss his turn. Well, you wait until 3 minutes left, take your turn, secure a bonus, the player misses his turn, and you get to keep your bonus with no chance of anyone else breaking it. This was brought into affect to eliminate a loophole that caused Double-turns, and won't be going away.

understood, but if you miss a turn, all bets should be off. missing a turn should not be a tactical advantage.

And it's not meant to be a tactical advantage. That player suddenly can't get a card for that card. He doesn't have a chance to break any bonuses in the turn he missed. He doesn't restore any bonuses he lost in that turn.
