Different ways of checking for multiple accounts

On top of running an IP scan and determining if a user has a multiple account, do some more research like:

Checking if supposed account(s) have ever joined the same game(s)
This is a HUGE indication of multiple accounts. This almost 100% proves it is a multi.
Action?: BAN

I just got accused of being a multi because I did some research of this site from friends/forums (like a normal person should do...) and now I am going to get banned...kind of corrupt for a website to run to the aid of paying members just because they lose.

they use more than just IP scans. If you're cheating you will get caught. if you aren't then you have nothing to worry about.
EDIT: this is also in the wrong forum.

I am not cheating, however, the report has been filed and I am assuming I will be banned for it...

Sounds like you have a guilty conscience.

Which is precisely the correct way to handle it, rather than opening up an ignorant thread of this nature. (I use the term to "ignorant" to mean "uneducated", not as an insult.)

You should get your hearing checked. It appears to be off.

Forum troll? I mean it as a term describing you, not a human-like being waiting for billygoats under a bridge...

I wouldn't really consider this an ignorant thread...my first HOUR here on this site and I have a multiple account accusation against me...reminds me of D2JSP.org, if your join date is anything close to the current date, you get no respect on the site.

Tassidar, they use a LOT more tools than a simple IP check. And it does not matter if multi accounts have ever joined the same game. Or if it is even in use anymore. YOU signed the agreement when you joined this site:
I will only ever use one account

And from the rules stated
CC Rules wrote:Rule #1: No multiple accounts

Multiple accounts are discovered by routine scans and community cheating reports. They are strictly forbidden whether or not they play in the same games or are even in use.
