Limited membership (4-game-maximum membership)

Concise description:
  • Limited membership (4-game-maximum membership, but you can use any of those 4 game slots for speed games)

Specifics/Details:
  • I used to be a member of CC, however I ended up with 25 games all running at once - not to mention the speed games. It really got out of hand and soaked up far too much of my time.
  • So I'm now a free-member to limit myself to the 4 game limit, which works well for me.
  • But I miss playing speed games...
  • But if I get a membership then I'll end up with a million games again. So I stay as free-member.
  • So I suggest a "Limited membership" where the maximum is still 4 games, but you can use any of those 4 slots for speed games. It would be cheaper than a full membership, but it's not really about the price - it's about limiting the addiction!!
  • I know I'm not the only one fighting CC-addiction... there could be a bit of a hidden market for this option...

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Making profit from the addicted cross-section of the CC market which currently no profit is being made from, and
  • Providing CC speed game fun to CC addicts in healthy doses!

I think more than a few people might like this, though I think a higher limit for regular games, maybe 10 or so, would be better. The big issue would be cost. Is this to be a cheaper version of the membership or just another classification?

wow, you've got a very low limit, lol. I know multiple people who consistently stay over 200, and I've been over 100 for a while now

also, I know people who buy premium just for speed, it's still worth it. You should just do that and personally limit yourself to 5 regular games

I think you are missing the point. There is a contingent of people here who have freemium strictly becuase they are not capable of restraining themselves.

I don't see how CC would lose by offering this, particularly if the cost for the membership were identical or only slightly less (say $5 less). The only issue would be that you might find some who want to later switch to a full membership. This would be one reason to have the cost be slightly less -- then there is no question, if a person wants to go "up", they need to pay the extra $5 (which would extend for the remainder of the membership only).. and, of course, there are no refunds.

P.S. you could even make this an option only available to people who have been here a year or who have previously had premium membership... etc.

Instead of offering varying levels of membership (and limiting some), aside from the two we have now, I'd rather see Premium Membership features, specials, etc, increased to make it even more Premium-esque.

I will be glad to help with this suggestion.

1. T7 purchases standard premium membership for $25
2. T7 sends me a PM with his password and his personal game limit for casual games
3. Anytime T7 exceeds his personal game limit, I will log into his account and make all his games unwinnable for him
4. T7 will eventually learn self-control

 Why stop with only CC? You could make a full-time living with "JakeWilliam's Personal Disciprine Service". All you need is a motorbike, keys to all your client's houses, a baseball bat and an unyielding commitment to threatening violence - all for the highly affordable price of $50 per "service visit"...

Please, I've been serviced by Jake. It's not worth $50.

I'd rather see a control panel option for maximum games that each user can have active at a time. Perhaps you could only change this option once every 24 or 48 hours? Or once you made a change to the option it would take 24 or 48 hours to kick in?
