Territory "Draft"

Concise description:
  • Much like a draft in sports, the territory draft will allow users to chose their starting territories.

Specifics/Details:
  • At the begining of games that are in draft mode, players create a queue (numbered list) of the territories they would like.
  • These queues are then taken and converted into the players starting territories.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It add more strategy to games.

Questions/Concerns:
  • What would happen if all of a player's requested territories are chosen?
  • The queue would consist of all available territories.

I'd like to play with a "draft", but I don't think it's feasible here. In "Risk", part of the strategy of drafting is responding to which territories the other players are taking. If you automate it, it takes away the strategy.

Perhaps there could be two types of draft- automatic and manual.
The bigest problem I see with manual is that it would be time consuming.

Manual would take forever. I could see it being an option in speed games only.
