Boot Camp for New Recuits
They should have to play each other until they get to private.
This would alow us to avoid most deadbeats.
Call it "Boot Camp".
You pass Boot Camp, you get to play anyone as usual.
Makes sense to me.
I would not have objected when I started.
That blue "?" is a very big "?"
I have had 4 player games with 3 new people who all deadbeated. I'm "playing" one now.

I know this sounds like the "Rank Requirement *rejected*" suggestion, but it is actually very different.

I think this has been suggested before. It would stop farmers. But of course with the large amount of deadbeats, it could scare them away.

I understand the fear of turning off new players. But as a new player I would have accepted it.

Wow, Queen_Herpes, you really make my suggestion look lame LMAO!
Well done, too bad nobody wants to go for it. I think it just makes sense.

Yours isn't lame, I just have too much time on my hands and a passion for helping out newer players. Take a long look at my sug and let me know what you think!

Hi Queen Herpes,
Nice idea but I think it's too much. The only ones left at the end will be 12 year olds and those who cant think for themselves. Reasonable players will work it out in three or four games. The rest are lost already.

As for this original thread, all that kind of boot camp will achieve is to concentrate all the worst experiences onto the potential new players. An effective way to stop new blood cold.
What about a harm minimisation strategy instead. You wont stop new recruits turning up and then leaving when they decide this isn't for them. And putting the good with the bad will just rot the lot.
Instead, why not just make the automatic kick out apply after one missed turn for any unranked player. It'll get the "deadbeats" out of your hair faster and if it affects a keen new player who really just couldn't make it to their turn, a gentle message saying 'Sorry, but until you have begun 5 games, you will get kicked out early' is unlikely to remove their long term interest.
It wont fix the problem but it will keep the most people happy overall.

What would you to do a player that was a private but then drops down to cook again?
Put them back in the boot camp?
