Evolving Map Games

Concise description:
  • Having the borders for a map change over the course of a game for certain map types.

Specifics:
  • This would only work on maps that changed over time (wartime maps over the course of several years, specific regions), but I think it would be an intriguing idea if, after a certain number of turns progress, the map would "evolve" into its next iteration (for example, a World War II map would change from circa-1939 to circa-1940; no troop assignments would change, just the borders, and therefore bonuses). This is just a wild and crazy idea, I have no idea of the implications this would have on balance, and it would obviously require several individual maps for each "evolving" map, but this is a place for suggestions, so I leave it for others to weigh its merits.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • It will provide a new and interesting game type, in my opinion, if it is able to be implemented at all.

This seems like a suggestion, and a map idea. Hmmmm, i know nothing of XML, so i don't know if it would be possible

That would be really awesome, but I don't think it is possible with the XML. Of course I am no expert. I know they have had some XML updates.

very interesting idea, however the XML would be a bitch to do (if its even possible). If accepted, it will probably take a while for it to be implemented (nuke spoils and zombie armies come to mind). Although, the admin has seemed to become more noticeably involved in the suggestion process, as of late.
