Limit mid-turn spoil cashing

Concise description:
  • No more than 1 set of spoils cashed mid turn by a given player on any given round. Spoils may only be cashed mid turn on the same turn the spoils were aquired. Allow aquisition of more than 5 spoils, but when one has more than five spoils he must turn in exactly one and only one set of spoils at the start of each round.

Implication:
  • The "kill player, take spoils, cash spoils to gain troops to kill another player, take spoils, cash his spoils to kill another player..." tactic into "kill player, take spoils, cash in spoils next turn to kill another player, take spoils, cash spoils next turn to kill another player..."
  • This would prevent the second weakest player from elimintating six other players in an 8 player game by being the first to kill the weakest player. The same spoils would be given to the player who eliminated his neighbor, but over a slightly longer period of time.

I think this is a common and popular strategy in Escalating games, and I don't think most people would want it removed; I know I wouldn't!

True, I suppose a lot of people wouldn´t want mid turn spoils cashing limited. To be honest, I would be happier to see clear fog/nuclear spoils implemented than minor tweaks like this.

This would wreck entire strategies and game styles. Not a good idea, and if you don't like cashing mid-turn, then don't play that style.

with that proprose you are only delaying one turn (I know one turn can be very very important) ex you have 4 cards and you kill someone who has 5...you change and you would get 6 spoils +1 at ending the turn...so with 7 cards he would change at least once...but maybe 2 because is the begining of the turn...and worst....you have 4 kill 2 that have 5 each...that makes 11 +1 12...so he would change it till he cant...unless he is killed by someone else and that person would recieve 12 spoils :shock:

Could it be added as a game setting? If it was, then those who prefer to be able to cash more than one set mid-turn could continue to do so, but those who like redpine's idea could have the settings they want.

I support the idea. I hate tournaments where 6 players play the same maps in the same order and one ruins all the games with his nonsense suicides (trying to kill 19 with 21 to get a 15 troops bonus, wtf?)... That way only the suicider will be killed as it should be 8-)
