Seriously. I mean, there's a flame wars forum and if people don't want to engage in flame wars they don't have to go there, so why get rid of it? Oh wait...
True, look at what happened when they got rid of flame wars. Flaming didn't disappear, it just blended with the off topics. It was naive to think that getting rid of part of the forum would make people stop being nasty towards each other on the internet.
what is funny is that people come to website called conquer club which is a web site to play risk and other dice driven, strategic based games to post their views on religion and politics.
I still don't see why you want to destroy a forum community and deal with the inevitable spillover into general section when it is entirely possible to just not click on the Monkey Business link. If you want to go straight to the forum games you can do that as well. So what's your motive?
Just because things do exist, or did exist, does not mean they should exist.
There will be spill over, but only for a while. If there is no place for people to post nonsense, and end up posting nonsense in places where people actually care, they will be reported and removed. People should have no problem respecting this if this is what CC chooses to do, unless people actually want to disrupt what CC is doing. Those people do not last long and eventually go elsewhere to do this disruptions.
There are other more qualified websites that deal with off tropics, not only in great depth but with greater intellect. I would figure that if people want to engage in that sort of activity, they would want to go to places like that and not a web site based on gaming. Go to a gaming website to engage in gaming and go to a political forum to post you views on politics. Not really that hard to understand is it?
