Map Maker idea

Postby Fuzzylogic99 on Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:44 am

Concise description:
  • Society of Mappers

Specifics:
  • This would be a group that train people who never made a map through the process
of map making from creating to beta.Im thinking that on expert can take on between
2-3 student depending on variety of factor

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • draw members that would not normally create maps into the mix.ie add fresh blood to the Foundry
  • create more creative and interesting maps..

Im thinking kind of the same concept like Society of cooks.Just wondering what everone
thought

Initiatives like this have been tried in the past---mostly unofficial things. The issue, as always, is finding people to participate as teachers.

The best way to learn about the programs needed to create maps, is simply experiment with the thousands of online tutorials, experiment with rudimentary and easy/small maps, and actively follow topics in the Map Foundry. I know a lot of people have learned from simply picking a relatively new map---and following it's development throughout the whole of the Foundry Process.
