Can we get 24 or 36 or 48 hours added to the game clocks Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

great suggestion hatchy, I would agree with this, perhaps lack could add time on major holidays, especially Christmas time, an extra 24 hours would be much appreciated, this way most can enjoy time with loved ones and relatives. I know, some may say, just do not join any games a week or so earlier, then no worries, however, some games do take longer than expected and can run into and thru Christmas.

Lack has added time before due to site being down, and he can add 48 hours per turn during major holidays if he desires, please consider, thanks.


This should not pose that much of a problem, I would not think? Others agree?

I like the idea...Means I dont have to check games at all chrissy day.

It would be nice indeed... but likely it will not happen. 48 hours would be nice though since that gives everybody a complete 24 hours at least of extra time.

As a player who has snuck behind my family's back to take my turns, I'm opposed to this suggestion. As a Christian, I certainly appreciate it, but there are an endless number of holidays that would need to be recognized to keep the site from ostracizing certain members. What about Ramadan and Id-al-Fetyr? What about 4th of July for the French and the US citizens? Super Bowl Sunday is a holiday to many. Thanksgiving in the US? Boxing Day in Canada? Oh, yeah, I'm pregnant...so should I get an extention if I give birth and have to miss turns?

I've also taken turns while on driving vacations by accessing the internet at motels and kiosks. I even played CC once from the inside of a Macy's department store that had a terminal set up for job applications (they didn't block people from accessing IE and other programs on the computer.) I've been playing with a chap recently who takes most of his turns from his cell phone.

When players start turns, they know there is a possibility to miss turns for just about any occurrence. I find it highly prejudicial to give extra time to those who are unwilling to plan ahead and/or unwilling to sneak into the bedroom to fire up the laptop or the cell phone to take a turn.

There are whole threads dedicated to the excuses that players have come up with to explain what they are doing when they are on the computer. I suggest checking those out and pickin a good one, then camping on the toilet to take your turns.

I have a feeling this suggestion probably won't make it, as it has been suggested in the past as well I believe.

What? Are you mad? "Having" to do my CC moves is pretty much the only excuse I have to get away from family and stuff those days.

While I agree that it is tough to determine which holidays to do this for, I believe that Christmas would be a very good day to do so. I'd love to see this happen.

what about the rest of us who have nothing better to do during the holidays and will then have to wait an extra day for someone to take their turn! Would drive me crazy

CC is a business, not a government entity. If they choose to recognize holidays, they only need to consider those which affect a majority of their clientèle. They wouldn't be doing this to cater to "certain members". Many businesses close on Christmas day without having to worry about closing on Ramadan or Id-al-Fetyr. If a large number of members won't be able to take a turn that day, and there's a lot of support for it, there's nothing wrong with picking this one day out of the year.

I'm not a Christian, and I'd appreciate having this day off to spend with my family. But I won't complain if it doesn't happen. Add one more to the list.

You still can take your turns, just that others would have that option of 48 hours instead of 24 hours. It could be just the last week of December and only happens once a year, like 12-24-09 to 1-1-10.

I don't think it's a bad idea, other MMORPG games do that, take Tribal Wars as an example.

this is a good idea...i prob wont have internet access that day cause of family stuff...u could just do it for christmas day, prob not for christmas eve though...a bunch of us have alot better things to do on christmas day than play conquerclub, especially those premiums who have over 100 games active, this clearly needs to be passed

This would force me to spend even more time with my in-laws. Terrible idea.

How about a compromise?

An added 24 hours so the peeps can socialize and free speed games for everyone! (or maybe just me!)
