Throw down the Gauntlet - Pistols at Dawn *Pending*

Postby yeti_c on Fri Jun 01, 2007 2:48 am

* Suggestion Idea: Now that Duel games have been created I think that you should be able to challenge someone...

* Specifics: so in their profile you click on it... and then click "Challenge"... and the other person can accept or decline... the Challenged person chooses the game types upon acceptance.

* Why it is needed: I want to slap people around the face with my glove -
You, sir, are a Cad!

* Priority** (1-5): 4

great idea, but i can see the mods getting 1000's a day, would be quite annoying for them :P

maybe a way to refuse all challenges in my settings?

Or have a queue with a limit (say 10)

This is a great idea. As long as phobia's is mixed in with it for people that dont want to receive challenges.

I like this idea. I also think a limited challenge queue is a good addition. I'd want the queue be visible to the public, and perhaps mark challenge games so that results can be found in a search.

I add my support to this suggestion. While a pm can ultimately result in a game of one on one, I like the 'challenge' idea and the option of letting the challengee pick the game options.

I love the idea of a "Glove Slap" option. Obviously the person being challenged would pick all the details of the match. I think a crucial feature of this option should be automatic joining for the player who issued the challenge.

So, if you "glove slap" someone on their profile, a "start your own game" like menu should come up, which will have options like maps, fortifications, etc.

Not quite...

I think you issue the challenge... then the person who is challenged upon acceptance - create the game with the various options... then the challenger automaticaly is inserted in that game.

I think this should be allowed for 6 player games and so on you slap 2 people who then slap 2 people each and they slap 2 people until all slots are filled
Then it could be a new form for open battle royales

Presumably the chalengee would not be able to pick number of opponents though - so limited to 2 player games? It would be nice if you could challenge more than one, or use it for doubles as well..

I mostly like this idea. If your challenge is accepted it seems reasonable that you be forced to play it. It is also reasonable that the challengee choose the options.

It's just that some options are considered so heinous by some people that they would never issue a challenge. I would use the system except that I wouldn't want to be forced into a freestyle game.

What if the challenger could choose one aspect? Either the map OR the cards OR the turn order, etc? The challengee would still have most of the control, and can refuse a setting they despise.

I challenge you to take my castle in Siege! or
I challenge you to a no cards, no-holds-barred grudge match, anywhere in the world!

Perhaps a message to go with the challenge - where you can state your preferences?

If someone doesn't heed your preferences (within reason) then ignore list them!!

State your preferences and/or throw around 18th century insults.

i like it: challenger picks first option, challengee picks the rest. after all the challenger did not have to challenge. with a 10-20 challenge limit this would be great. maybe with a 18th century insult sent to you at the challenge to provoke anger :D (thanks helmut+sparqs)[/quote]

I think this would be great, provided(as said before) there is a queue. This would limit incoming and outgoing challenges.
