Chance to call a time out

Postby bob72 on Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:07 am

Coming up to christmas and i'm sure there are a few players who won't be able to play during the festive period.

I would like to see a timeout request ingame where any player could call timeout if necessary for a certain period (other players would then have the option of voting yes or no.) more than 50% of votes wins.

So for a 2 player game it's an auto yes
3 player games you need 2 yes
4 player game 2 yes
5 player game 3 yes
6 player game 3 yes

I'm away from 21 Dec to 5 Jan and despite not signing up for any new games in the last 5 days I'll still have a few ongoing come 21st :(

I dislike the Idea as a matter of fact I loathe it. It is probably one of the worst idea's suggested. What if a freemium player is in four games were they are all on time out? Then they have to wait to take their turns, not knowing when that will be. Also fifty percent doesn't work, tie goes to the defender in dice roles, why wouldn't apply here? It would have to be the following:

2PG = Both players agree.
3PG = Two out of three.
4PG = Three out of four.
5PG = Four out of five.
6PG = Five out of six.

If it isn't like that then in 2PG's one player could use this to their advantage, the first to click get's to take their turn whenever they want. In 3PG's players could make an alliance to rid the strongest player, leave then comeback when unsuspected. 4PG's same as above and in doubles teams could drop out for an advantage of surprise attack. 5PG's same as 3PG's. 6PG's same as 4PG's regaurding doubles and triples. Let us not forget speed games, somebody call's time out and then resumes during a time when the other player can't log-on, and deadbeats (This is why both players must agree for 2PG's). That is why this is one of the worst idea's I have read in these forums.
