Suggestion: Move Game, Interaction and Personal Menu to...

Postby 3seven1 on Fri Nov 02, 2007 6:19 pm

<-------------------->

<Subject>:
Suggestion: Move Game, Interaction and Personal Menu to the top of the page.

<Body>:

Suggestion Idea: It would clear up some room on the side of the webpage. While playing most maps I have to scroll to the side to see the players and cards. I think if the Game Menu, Interaction Menu and Personal menu were moved to the top it would take care of this problem.

Specifics: I was thinking some sort of mouse-over drop-down menu sort of thing.

Why it is needed: Explained above.

<-------------------->

I checked the to-do list and didn't see anything like it so if I missed it and this has already been suggested, sorry.

Alterations and changes to the way the website is set up is being considered for the future.

I have to have it on small mode or else it's way to big. But even so, I still have to scroll left and right.

That doesn't tell me much. But it does tell me a little. Do you have any information on what changes might be made?

I quite like it the way it is... You could try adjusting your monitors resolution, as I never have this problem unless I have my window smaller than normal.

Actually, with crappier laptop you can't put good enough resolution so there are maps where I have to scroll up and down but this is not the point :)

Anyway, if it is changed then I'm sure that there are people who start whining that there was something wrong with the old system so why fix it.

So, basically, as I'm one of the "scrollers" then my point is that... dunno what my point is. Maybe that it's not that important to change but it would make life for some people easier :roll:

My resolution is 1024 x 768. My font was, for some reason at 16pt. I changed that to 12 and it's seems to be ok. Kinda small for my taste but I guess it's easier for me to do that than it is for lack to change this whole site. I only tested it out on one map, so I can't say that it worked for all maps.

I still think it would be a good idea to move those menus to the top. I just think it would look better up there.

It did. I tested it out on a World 2.1 map that i'm playing and I don't have to scroll. As far as I know World 2.1 is one of the larger maps, even on small map mode. I don't have to scroll left and right so that's nice. However, I need to get a stronger prescription on my contacts so that I can see the 12pt font.

Ah the joys of getting older. I'm 25, balding and my vision is shitty. Pretty soon my brain is going to go and i'll be forced to play nothing but Doodle Earth!

I still think it would be nice to have the menus up top. I think a mouse-over/drop down type deal would look cool. Then maybe I could use the large maps. :D

Thanks for bringing up the font issue. I have no idea why it was set to 16pt, but for now it takes care of my side scrolling issue.

Perhaps moving menus around, perhaps the ability to hide menus, etc. We'll see what eventually comes out!
