Ascending Chained

Postby Rybal on Wed Jun 13, 2007 8:55 pm

In a two player game, going with unlimited fortifications gives way too much of an advantage to the first player whereas it is sometimes nice to be able to fortify more than one territory in a turn.

What if you could fortify based on the number of turns?

You could also have it so that you can choose the factor (from a dropdown box) to set the max number of fortifications in a round.

Just a thought - let me know what you think.

I'm leaning closer to no on this subject… I tend to do most of my fortifications on the first turn in Unlimited, and I'd like to keep it that way.

i think the purpose of ajecent and chained only allowing you one move is becasue teh more moves you allow the MORE like UNLIM it becomes.

You are both right - and those are both reasons why I suggested this.

In a smaller game (or even a team game), the player/team with first move has a greater advantage when playing unlimited. With my suggestion, the game starts as though it is just chained, but becomes more like unlimited as it progresses, gradually increasing the flexibility that you have while not giving one player/team too much of an advantage.
