Deadbeats

Postby Mysty on Fri May 04, 2007 2:19 pm

not really sure if someone's come up with this, but couldn't trace it with all these deadbeat topics around...

Can't there be a cap on how much you can deadbeat?

I know alot out here are really bereft of the great fun of this game by those annoying deadbeats... so i propose a cap (say from 3 to 5) to avoid those hardcore deadbeaters!

Just place a limiter on all players and when they reach 3/5 deadbeats (consequetively or not) their account gets locked automatically...

When this happens you can give those players the ability to login to their account and display their situation to one of the mods or staff (or specifically designed council) for them to decide if they can play any further, but without the possibility to play games!
I don't think players who like to play this game will ever reach 3/5...

Maybe something to think about (if not suggested/rejected already) :D

Please see my suggestion in this thread - http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18125 - which has some similarities with what you are suggesting.

number of separate occassions would be more suitable. if you deadbeat out of 30 games because your internet goes down that is only 1 chance gone because it was all on 1 occassion. if you deadbeat out of 3 games on 10 occassions thats 10 chances gone because its 10 separate occassions....
sound alrite?

like yorkie says, if your computer is fucked up and you have to wait a good few days to get it fixed, you would have to dead beat. i have just come back off holiday, before i went i told people how long we had left(i did not join any games with only 5 days before i went). some games were going very slow so i had to dead beat or they wiped me out.

which is why it would have to be as i described ^^^^^ 1 occassion would be between your last login and your present login if that makes sense....

In those rare, rare instances when someone can't play a game because the computer has gone down, there is a solution: libraries.

A much better solution than to stop the solution to what to do with deadbeats.

i dont think its really needed, because (correct me if im wrong) the majority of deadbeats are new recruits that never play agian anyways. In my experience it is rare for an established player to consistently deadbeat.

Exactly, I'm sure I've deadbeated myself more than 3 times due to extraneous circumstances. Also, I joined the site and then didn't visit again for about a month. (Deadbeated about 4 games). Then I came back and got hooked.
