Turn notification Via Private Message to Inbox?

Postby snoman99991 on Fri Apr 27, 2007 2:35 pm

I would love to see my turn notifications show up in my Private Message Inbox too. It's right there, and if I'm just surfing the forum, or the site, it's a lot faster than opening another page and checking email separately.

I imagine that this would speed up how fast people realize it's their turn, and in turn end games faster, and therefore make people play more than their free 4 game limits would normally allow them to.

Urgency? About two stars I'd think, maybe three if enough people like it.

Anyone wanna support this idea? Thanks a bunch, figured I'd make my first post worth something around here ,

There is already a greasemonkey script that is more effective - shows when it is your turn on your desktop too. See here:

(Although you do need firefox first, which is explained on that page)

The idea is that this would be nice for people who like to run their desktops in a minimalist style, and would be an elective option.

Beyond that, you can't really run that application in public places unless you want to install something on someone else's computer, which doesn't seem all that polite. I know college students aren't always on their own computers, maybe even only getting access through a library.

This would be a simple and practical feature for those who are usually on the go, or those who don't like using extra programs.

You also have to consider that many CCers are frequent forum members, and would be clicking new links on the page on a regular basis. To see a new PM would be more attention grabbing and more enticing than some program that runs in the background.
