Be able to report a post even tho it's already been reported

Concise description:

If you try to report a post that has already been reported, you are redirected to a page that tells you the post has already been reported. I would like to be able to report it anyway, so mods realize how many people don't like a post.

I used to think I was the only one that didn't like pimpdave's poisonous threads but I've learned lately that I'm far from being the only one. You see some think he is funny, so I thought everybody thought that way and I was the only one not getting his humour.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• It would help us be democratic in getting rid of pimpdave's poison, instead of the mods telling you: "You know, he didn't break a particular rule, and you got angry about his posts and lost because you actually did break a couple of rules, so he compiled all your posts, and submitted them via an e-ticket, so you are banned.

it doesn't really matter how many people are offended by a post. one report is enough for that post to be analysed and measures to be taken. having more people reporting the same post won't make the mods apply a harsher punishment, it will simply flood the mods with extra work.

Yeah but what pimpdave does is try to get other angry with his posts, knowing very well how to avoid crossing the line, he does it on purpose. So most likely the post hasn't broken any specific rule, and the robots mods will of course don't do anything about it, but if you have in the record how may users do actually consider that post offensive, than you can weigh in and apply some judgement.

How many times has he targeted PhatScotty with his threads, that is since his last ban?? When was the last time he was banned?

I know he must be friends with some mods, but if they realize there are a lot reporting him, then they might be obliged to change their mind.

How is extra work to know how many users have reported a post??

This again is a phpBB sort of feature request! Suggestions that deal with the forums are usually best left to the real phpBB development Team, since we only take on some big projects (like Walls and Medals).

That's not necessarily true. The coding could be written so that it shows that post was reported and then when the mod goes to open the report it provides a list of the reasons the post was reported and how reported it. So you'd still only have 1 report on file, but you'd have the additional data of listing the different people and reasons also available. You would just want to modify the reporting screen to say something like "This post has already been reported. Do you want to add to the open reports or go back to the topic?"

I find pimpdave funny, but yes, he does troll and bait at times too. That doesn't give you license to troll, bait and flame him back.

Those quotes are at the very least a bait, disguised as a suggestion. You're on a crusade to get a user banned. There are plenty of people who post on this site who I do not like. I've earned myself a ban or two responding to a few of these people, because I failed to control myself and posted in kind. This was not their fault; it was mine alone. I've since learned how to use the Foe option. Now, when I find a user who I particularly cannot stand, I put them on foe, and remove the temptation to respond in a nasty manner, because I can't see what they're saying.

I suggest that you do the same, instead of creating bait threads outside of off-topics. You don't like a particular user? Then foe that user, and stop crusading to get people banned.

Yes, you are correct.

As you point out I'm going everywhere with this and I did know this suggestion was not going to advance. But I have a goal, and that's to let as much users as possible know about pimpdave's baits. As I've said, he's smart enough and won't cross the line, the only way he might get banned is if for some reason mods realize there are quite a few of us.

For instance, max thread, he was 100% answering ot pimpdave's bait, and he might get banned, I don't think so, because if they banned max they would have to face the accusation of pimpdave's baits, and I think mods want to stay out of this as much as possible. But I called it before it happened.

He also got Woodruff banned, a couple of times.

You are also right about the foe option, but I still get to read the tittles of his threads, and pretty much it sums it up..

Anyway, by now you know what I mean, and perhaps in the future you'll notice what I mean in his threads.
