Bombardment Explanation [Done]

Postby Night Strike on Sat Oct 06, 2007 9:00 pm

Suggestion Idea:
There needs to be an explanation of Bombardment and other game essential XML features in the instructions.

Specifics:
In the Attack Your Enemies section, it only outlines how the attack process works and that your armies can advance forward after an attack. This is obviously not the case when it comes to bombardment. I'm not sure what the exact wording should be, but I can edit this once some suggestions are given.

Why it is needed:
Way too many people, both new and old members, are getting greatly confused by the bombardments located on Pearl Harbor and Battle of Actium. It has to be described to make everyone's lives easier.

Priority: 5 (aka immediately)

100% agree and asked for this previously. Forgot why it was shot down. Here's to another go.

I don't think it was shot down. Instructions will be revamped, most likely, with many more details, etc.

Yeah this is high on my to-do list, along with blocking bombardments against 1 neutral or maybe all neutral.

Done:

gameplay notes wrote:There is a special type of attack called bombardment which converts the opposing territory to neutral once the opponent's forces are destroyed. Maps with bombardments are: Pearl Harbor and Battle Of Actium.

Nice. But you need to point out to people that bombardment does not allow you to advance. Also, I think it should be moved from Game play Notes to the last sentence of II. Attack Your Enemies.

i.e. (new print in bold)

attack your enemies wrote:There is a special type of attack called bombardment which converts the opposing territory to neutral once the opponent's forces are annihilated. Territories can only be neutralized NOT captured/advanced upon via bombardment. Current maps with bombardments are: Pearl Harbor and Battle Of Actium.

Thanks for putting that up lack. It's better than nothing, but Aerial's suggestion is better.

Some maps allow a special type of assault called bombardment. Bombardment doesn't allow you to conquer once the opponent's forces are destroyed, instead it converts the opposing region to a single neutral troop. Reinforcements can not be made along bombardment routes.

I think Aerial Attack's suggestion is covered by our current wording. Case closed :)
