- Game that is potentially faster than sequential but slower than freestyle, allowing *some* jumping ahead in the queue.
Specifics:
- Order of players in a game would reflect order they took their turns last round, rather than order they joined game.
At start of round, first player has 24 hours to complete his turn.
Each additional player is allowed to take his turn (and given 24 hours to do so) after either all previous players have taken their turn (like sequential), *or* after X hours (perhaps 4 by default) if the previous players haven't all taken their turn.
Speed games would work under similar principle but with less time as usual.
Example
- Round 1:
(Who goes first in round 1 is randomized as usual)
00:00 Player 1 has 24 hours to take his turn
04:00 Player 2 has 24 hours to take his turn
04:05 Player 2 takes his turn
08:00 Player 3 has 24 hours to take his turn
08:10 Player 1 takes his turn
08:30 Player 3 takes his turn
08:30 Player 4 has 24 hours to take his turn
09:00 Player 4 takes his turn
Round 2:
Order of players is now 2,1,3,4
09:00 Player 2 has 24 hours to take his turn
13:00 Player 1 has 24 hours to take his turn
17:00 Player 3 has 24 hours to take his turn...
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
- Games go much faster than sequential when players are slow to take their turns: A 4 player game for example has maximum turn length of perhaps 40 hours rather than 96
Less double turn effect than freestyle.
