Ranking revamp

OK, I have a couple of ideas here.

* Firstly I'd do away with the points system, and instead have rank based on number of games played eg

0-4 Recruit
5-25 Private

etc.

And have rank under the username in the forums. The reworking of this would also hopefully encourage people to play more game (and maybe buy premium accounts)


* Secondly, add more ranks (easy enough, fill in the gaps, make progression gaps larger, so from Recruit to Field Marshall takes long enough)



* Thirdly, have victories count towards medals. There could also be more for doing specific things, eg

campaign medal - win a game
winning streak of 5 games - military cross
winning streak of 10 games - victoria cross
last man defeated - purple heart

etc

Could also be a little image under avatars in the forums, like ribbons on modern uniforms. (I really like the purple heart idea, as it would show players who come oh so close, and gives them a little something)

this would be great. Also using real military rank images would be nice. I've never been in the military but even I know that three V bars is NOT a lieutenant.

i understand these things are being worked on but this is very different from the other ideas most of which stiill want some kind of point scoring system

however it might not be able to show best players as person A could meet the goals against easier players whereas person B may achieve the same feat but against much harder players.

Also a league table encourages consistency and less dead beating whereas if somebody is attempting to gain a specific goal and complete it in a different game they will have no reason to try and complete the next game (for those obsessed with reputation rather than fun)

Overall good idea but needs thought about some way to clasify players so best can be seen.

I believe ladder system has been mentioned so if you beat a person within x amount of places you can take there place, this sounds possible, but you would only play the same people reguarly. I think wait to see what is going to happen then discuss improvements.
