Time limit option

Postby hecter on Mon Jan 29, 2007 11:32 pm

I think that you should be able to choose how long the time is between turns. like if you want a real time game, you have a 30 min option. if you dont want to wait 24hrs, you could have a 12 hr option. to prevent people from having to stay up all night, you could have a little vote, and if majority rules, you could pause the game for a set time period.

Good god. Check before you post.

This has been suggested before. There's a to-do list at the top of the forum. Read that.

As I've said on the previous threads of this nature- I don't think 8 hour or 12 hour turns (or anything like it) would work because it would often be your turn at inconvenient times...ie while you're sleeping, at work or school, etc. And you could start playing a game but unexpectedly be away for a day and have to deadbeat.

Speed games on the other hand, which is on the suggestion list, would have 10 or 15 minute turns perhaps. That way you can play real time games and finish them up before your plans suddenly change. And even if you did have to leave unexpectedly you would only keep the others waiting for less than an hour. If we got the added bonus of an auto-skip/vacation button in the same update, then someone leaving a real time game would have virtually no negative effects, except the additional dispersement of neutral armies.

Anyway, speed games are coming! That should make a lot of people on this site happy, because I know many people want them. Hopefully it arrives relatively soon, to quench their thirst for the mega update
