Rating scale

Postby wakka on Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:31 pm

Concise description:
There are sooooo many topics about rating, I have no idea wheter this has been suggested before. A big problem in rating is that 'average' is 'bad' and 5 star is 'average'

Specifics:
This is a problem that can be solved by a simple change in options to choose from. Instead of a 1-5 star option, you get a 1-3 star option. To make it easy, use colors.

Red - Bad
Gray- Neutral
Green- Good

You rate with a green star is youre positive, and with a red star if you negative. Your average rating will be replaced by the positives rating number / negative rating number. Like:
wakka (50/5), meaning that 50 people gave me a good rating, and 5 a bad rating.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
Make rating more accurate.

How would the removal of resolution from the rating system make ratings more accurate?
