Suggestion: New Ranked Games/New Additional Score Table

Postby WidowMakers on Sat Oct 18, 2008 12:56 pm

Concise description:
Have new game option for Special ranked games. You cannot pick your opponents or teammates or map.

-Make games where rank cannot be determined by cheating and map/game/setting exploits.
-A new selection option in the game screen where you can only pick a small amount of options (Game Type, Cards, Fortification) and the computer puts you (and others) into a random map. The game pops up on your games awaiting players screen but you cannot see how many spots there are, how many spots are full or any of the other settings.
-Once the game starts, play as normal. The winner of the game is given points just like normal but each player’s ranked score is separate from the current score. This is similar to some online games with ranked and non ranked lists.
Specifics:
    1) Premium Only-This will eliminate 99.9% of the multi cheating. How many people will make 10 premium accounts and hope they randomly get put into a game with the same player? Probably not many.
    2) Minimum of 10 games played on each ranked setting. This will ensure the player has some sort of grasp on how each is played.
    3) Only 10 Ranked games at a time. This will keep people from joining 300 games and also keep the randomness factor up. With less games for a player to be in, the less chance of playing in two ranked games at the same time with the same person (less chance of cooperative cheating, i.e. you lose here and I will lose there)
    4) If a player deadbeats out of 5 ranked games (in 1 month-based on the start time of the 1st and 5th deadbeat game), they are banned from ranked games for a month. Do this 2 times in 6 months, get 2 month ban. Get banned 4 times in 1 year, lifetime ban from ranked games. This will keep out people who are not serious about ranked games.
This will improve the following aspects of the site:
-By doing this people will not be able to manipulate the scores (as much) by teaming up and playing 1 type of game beating noobs.
-It will really show who is the better player or players when we will be forced to play games and maps we are not particularly good at (right now).
-Plus with the restrictions mentioned above, there will be less abuse and a better gauge as to who really is the best.
