'Lock' Graphic on Locked threads moved to Closed Reports

Postby jiminski on Fri Jul 18, 2008 7:16 am

Concise description:
  • 'Lock' Graphic on threads moved to Closed Reports in Cheating and Abuse

Also get rid of the 'Reply' button please.

This will improve the following aspects of the site:
  • Through me not trying to comment on locked threads all the flipping time.

the moderator would just have to lock the topic (which could be done to all currently in there from the MCP)

Well i am not sure of the dynamics ... but they have instituted a system whereby they simply move the thread to the Closed report 'Forum' and this auto-locks it.

It does not however remove the 'ghost' reply button (although you can not reply) or place a lock Icon on the thread title.

If the moderator locked the threads individually (even though the forum is locked) then the button would say "Locked"

Locking a topic changes the "Post Reply" button to "Locked".

As for the icon from the main C&A forum, I'm not sure it can be changed. The images are site wide, so I don't know if one forum can have it's own set of icons.

The Icon should appear as a locked symbol, the buttons do not unless the topics are locked

If you enter through the C&A forum, then you see that the Closed Reports section has the locked icon. I will see what can be done about getting the image to appear on every thread.

Fixed, but the title is too long to add a tag.

Yes, but that is only a quick fix, not an actual solution, as every time a new thread is moved into the forum, the same issue will arise.

just make sure that mod locks the thread before they move it, or you could just do a lock all every couple days
