Suggestion - Player Gameplay Information

Postby AlbroShlo on Thu Jan 31, 2008 12:11 pm

* Suggestion Idea:

A place where you can write down notes on a player

* Specifics:

On poker sites they have an option that comes up when you right click on a players name that allows you to keep notes on that player's style of play. For instance how often they go all-in or how aggressive of a player they are. I think the same idea would be just as useful here at ConquerClub. Only here the notes would be stuff like weather or not this person will spend the game getting revenge on you for a well timed attack. Perhaps a player has been borderline but you never left Neg Feedback or put on ignore bc of it or maybe they are the type of player to try to convince others to do his dirty work (you know who you are). I can think of many other notes you could write but you get the point.

* Why it is needed:

Many players at ConquerClub have played 1000 plus games. There is no way to remember playing styles for each person. It would also allow us to be better able to Conquer which is what it's all about

:wink:

According to me everyone has a different strategy every game
It depends on what map you play, how many players there are, the settings of the game.. all different factors which decide your playing style, so there's no overall game play I guess?
not that it would be that difficult to implement.. but I don't think many will use it

there are a lot of players on cc :wink: i doubt it will help you very much, i only see a use in it whit players you often play with and even then its not 100% I myself have often changed tactics.

Actually, I think there is a hack to phpBB that could be adapted to this purpose for private messages to yourself about another used.

I'll look into it if I have time :)

You could always do what I do and keep these yourself. A way to do it with the site interface would be preferred though.

You can make a little spreadsheet on excel with every players' name and write notes there :roll:

perhaps this feature would be viewable by over players. For example,
before you join a game with someone, you could check their "strategy sheet"
and see what other people have said about their playing style.
This would be kind of like feedback, except a player could not view his own
sheet.

I was going to suggest exactly this,
Sometimes it is good to have a running record of peoples strategies.
Most competitive sports have these types of things available, in order to help teams or players learn effective counter plays.
This would be a great tool to have for tournaments, you could even pass your notes on to teammates and clan members.

I have already figured out that I can make notes with the "note to self" in game chat. Just copy and paste it into your PM box, then send it to yourself.
Problem with this is that space is limited. Which brings up the glaring problem of the amount of new memory, lackattack would have to find, in order for everyone to utilize an ongoing, and ever growing intelligence file.

Perhaps a public note board for each player could be made available.
Sort of an extension on the feedback options. I know that neutral feedback is an option for this. The problem with that is that neutrals are buried in the peoples FB, and is not displayed like positives and negatives currently are.

Anyways I am just throwing some thoughts out there. I am sure this would be great to have. Unfortunately memory is limited on CC, and I for one would prefer game upgrades, instead of more personal space .
