Reasonable but unnecessary and many result in players knocking out others and doing as they would not have done otherwise. Remember you can never tell how well people are doing by their armies, it's position and placement that counts.
Now that i've actually played a few games, I agree that this shouldn't be done. At least in the fog of war games. For example, I was unpleasantly surprised to find 47 armies waiting for me in Indonesia when I thought I was on my way to a quick victory. Doh!
I don't know if he actually meant the number of armies or the number of teritories but I think having a territory count would be agood idea. Not in games where fog of war is enabled though...that would ruin the concept of fog of war. But being able to see the number of territories each player has without counting is just plain easier. I'm sure most of the long time members would not want this because it would remove some of the technical aspect of the game but I think it would be conveniant. Just something I've been thinking about for the past week or so.
