regarding the numbers:

Trouble is always to find back from the game log where "the hell" was "number 5 bombarded number 47"..

A small but essential improvement : add alphabet letters as a combination:
Per zone an alphabet letter and within the zone a collection of numbers..you won't go over number 9 for sure:

A1 attacks B2 etc..
Perhaps if each bonuszone name starts with a unique letter, you can take that letter..

Interesting idea,i will try to experiment with that.

I like the new odball=)

Altough i still its to cramped in italy, i whatched carefully all you need to do is make the terretories bigger removing a bit of the sothern italy part (flag) and stretch the terretories...and i cant say F5 part looks so good either. But again its looks much better with letters and numbers!=)

I disagree with Oaktown's wait until larger maps are allowed because qwert could just revamp the map to something better looking once larger maps are allowed. It's not going to be the prettiest map but it looks like it'll function well and not be so cluttered that it'll be impossible to play so why not? (maybe someone has said this already)

Yeah - and in the large map - you could probably have the full names - with numbers in brackets...

i.e. Paris (5)

This could then turn into your "Small" map - when (if) larger maps are allowed.

well i put only western front,because hes terittories is much smaller,and dont put all,because dont want to waste time,if these solution not aceptabile for Gimil.

I will put only letter who is good-S is not good look like number 5.Well i have 30 letters and i will experiment to put best options.
I all ready posted map with 88 and 888 numbers,see page 1(ofcourse these map is with names,but with combination letter-number,they fit even better)

The map looks great with the letter number idea.. I think to improve game play there needs to be a few starred territories in the center section of map...

everything looks preety good with the letter drop. (shame there wasn't the right letter for every continent, not much you can do there i suppose)

vL5 - von Leeb Army (though this might clash with its poss. neighbor L5 - Leningrad army)
D5 - Siegfried Defence (to change to S5 - Stalingrad army) {though the T5 works not too bad there anyway}
E5 - East Prussia (and change East Germany to G5)
Balkan Front and Final Battles remain a mystery.

... though now i think the 1,2,3's for the bombardment/launch areas should be altered slightly to distinguish them from the rest ... maybe a yellow or orange glow around them, instead of white like the letter-numbers?

... have you worked out the bonuses for the central front yet?

... maybe the brown on the map and the morrone in the siegfried defence inset should be matched etc.?

... am i right in assuming that for each of the "stars" bonuses you get three armies and 1 for the berlin bonus?

Every thing is open for experiment,but first we must get Gimil opinion about combination number and letters instead names,if he dont satisfy with that,then all drop in water,because he bring decision for these map. If he like,then we hope that these map can move forward.

Except for Western Task Force and Karelia,what i mean to be K1 and WTF(or some combinations WFT-TFW)

Maybe you were planning to do this, but I think you should underline the representitive letter in the legend of each continent, for example Britain, in the legend, as to ensure everyone will know what continent is what.

The "Final Battles" continent will probably confuse some, why not rename it to Czechoslovakia?

And what's that black-and-white striped box in the Black Sea?

I think I would be better for North Italy than N, if the I can be made not to look like a 1.

Where did the East-Center-West connectors/bridges go?

I think it might be better to have the letter-number names in stead of the real names in the Sigfried Defense inset box.

Why is Leningrad Army represented by O and can't Rundstedt be an R?

If you ask me, you should give two letters to each continent - the first will be W, C, or E for the front that it's in, and the second will be a letter denoting what continent. I'd arrange these with North being the lowest and South the highest. For example, WA could be Britain, WB France, WC the Sigfried Defence, WD West Germany, WE Vichy France, and WF Northern Italy. Do the same for each front, except replace the Ws with Cs or Es. Then arrange the legend in the order of increasing letters, so things are easy to find.

Of course, you could do it many other ways. This is just a thought.

I Like the W C E idea - but I would prefer the start letters to be the start letters of the "continent".

i.e.

WE = Western Front England.
WF = Western Front France.
WG = Western Front Germany.
WI = Western Front Italy/
CG = Central Zone Germany.
CE = Central Zone East Prussia.
CP = Central Zone Poland.
ES = Eastern Front Stalingrad.

PS - note change from "centre front" to something more fitting... i.e. as it is the Central Zone - it isn't actually a front. (A front being where 2 armies are fighting) other ideas could be "Interior", "Axis Zone", os something else.
