ie - Latin "id est" - means "that is (to say)"
eg - Latin "exempli gratia" - means "for example" or "for the sake of example"

The two abbreviations are not therefore interchangeable and hence AAFitz's argument stands.

It's not against the rules to ask for feedback. I've found a good way to stop it is to publicly humiliate the person and give them a neutral like I gave Pedronicus.
