Accused:Ragnars wolves Game 15587066 ( I am reporting myself as I was accused and not sure if what I did was wrong) In game 15587066 Macedonia 12 player game in small map.
I asked for a 2 turn treaty in game chat THEN I PM'ed him (smokebaseball) and put ALL THIS IS IN GAME CHAT and put the copied (off the forum ) message in there. Because the chat was so hot and heavy I was worried he would not see it. He replied "Are we supposed to do this" and after thinking about it, I explained why and apologized. Later in the game I had to take one of his terts as he never gave the treaty.

He then said I tried to do secret diplomacy (a number of turns later) in chat and then attacked him....I immediately explained (IN CHAT) what I had done/why/ and that I had apologized, and RESTATED what I did No one else said anything and I am not sure he wasn't just mad as he was losing. I realize this is walking on the edge, but i have players doing the same thing to me all the time in crowded chatty games. AND they always say..in Caps (ALL IS IN GAME CHAT) and it is. He may let it go as his anger dissipates, but I would like to know if I actually broke/bent etc the rules and whether to be on the safe side and not do it again or in certain instances it is OK. There was no malice or trying to get an advantage...and was none as he never gave the treaty and I attacked him down the road. I DID DO IT...but it wasn't secret...mark me confused as I said, I get them all the time in crowded games. Thanks Ragnars Wolves :?

Cleaned this up a bit.

To avoid any problem, you should
1) put your message on his wall, not PM.
2) only say " Please read chat in game XXXXX "

Yeah....talked to some others and they said the same thing more or less...trouble was....this happens to me all the time when it is a chatty room and treaties are flying all over the place.
Not until I was called on it did I freak. Thanks for the input...if they don't see it I will just attack (or be attacked) next time.

He cooled off and said he was cool with it as he didn't make it clear in chat....but I still wanted to know.

I have no clue why they have it listed as multi abuse. But it doesn't look good as it says SEVERE.
Well, they can decide what they want...I meant no harm and if they want to have a conversation, I am open and willing to take my verbal thrashing.

Thanks for the input guys

Guys ....I turned myself in because I get these innocent looking messages all the time...just got another one while I was logging on. I just wanted to see how much latitude people get on this after asking 5 people and getting 5 answers.

I am not worried about that as even the guy I did it too told me "no worries he should have made it clearer but it was so cluttered"

I am wondering where the MULTI came from.....does it make any sense I turn myself in for clarification if I was a multi? Geeeeeez guys

No, being a multi, conducting secret diplomacy OR severe PM abuse are just the 3 "most popular" C&A accusations; it's just a pre-made form and has nothing to do with you. You were supposed to clean up the form and let only the relevant stuff.

Don't worry mate, don't think you did anything wrong, you've just been a bit clumsy in your communication.

now you know; all in chat, wall the guy to tell him to read your chat offers to make sure he does read it, so everybody can see what you did. If you PM, people can think wrong as they can't see the message for themselves, even if you're just reposting what you wrote in the game chat. Just a trust issue.

LOL..trust me..I have been schooled now...but I REALLY did want to know or I never would have turned myself in.....You just don't know how surprised I was when he called me out, when I must get 10 of those a week from DIFFERENT people.

OK, oh guru's in the tall tower...I have learned my lesson and will tell others to not do the same to me....I am young and have a mentor that has already scolded me (Ravaging Emperor... who has a hat of some sort)

On a serious note...I am NOT taking this lightly and will answer any questions honestly and quickly with any proof I have. I only ask that you remember that this really IS important to me and probably the 100th thing you had to decide today. Please just ask, I will answer. Thanks 8-[

Under this unusual circumstances where the TS has reported himself and looks to be showing that the intent was not to cheat or break the SD rule, i will just note this report for future reference. Please be more aware of the rules from now on as what has been said here:
