AK_iceman has busted my suspected multis. What happens to my 3 player game with the 2 busted usernames???? Please tell me I don't have to wait for 3 missed turns...which will take 6 days!!!

If what you say is true....it's ridiculous.

Why would someone that has broken "rule #1 of Conquer Club" be allowed to finish the game? I am going to lose points because of a cheater. The multi accounts should be suspended immediately and eventually deleted.

Allowing multis to finish a game after being "busted", negates any incentive for me to expose cheaters in the future. I will just take the b.s. loss of points, put the user names on my ignore list, and move on. Instead of going to the trouble of putting together a forum post with all the info needed and in the format they request.

If those running the site want our help finding the cheats, they need to make it worth the effort. Terminating the game and preserving point totals of the good guys doesn't seem unreasonable.

I don't want to gain or lose any points in this situation. It's a clear cut case of multi usernames. The game should just be deleted, my points shouldn't change, and the multi usernames banned. Why would that be difficult?

Your statement about knowing no one will ever be hurt by this person again doesn't apply....in game chat the guy claims he's already been banned in the past, but is still able to create new accounts. Only thing he's prevented from doing is posting messages on here.

I'm disappointed in the lack of info about what's going on. I posted the cheaters info in the specific format they request. All I get back is that the guy was "busted". I was expecting the game to be deleted, but it's still there. Are the multi usernames suspended? Why keep the game around if the guy can't login? It would've been nice to have received some kind of form email after they "busted" my cheat, explaining their process and what happens to the game.

Weeding through old posts, I finally found some posts by mods on the subject. Apparently, the use of multis is very prevelant. Only one guy has the ability to delete games and would not be able to keep up with deleting all the ruined games and continue developing improvements to the game. They also apparently have some kind of appeal process for the accused. Is there a time limit on that?

It's frustrating....I feel like I was helping out by exposing this cheater, and it doesn't seem like much is being done as a result. Very little feedback or info available. Apparently, not difficult for a banned person to create new accounts. I'm probably going to lose points and/or have to wait 6 days for the game to finish. Much like the other players caught in this cheater's other 4 games he is involved with.

There are more multis than you think. The ones banned in the forums aren't the only ones. The mods scan and ban multis as they find them. And I'm sure lack wouldn't want to tamper with the records so much as to delete the games with multis. I played a game with a person who I later found out was a multi. I won that game. If that game got deleted, I'd be pretty upset. I worked hard for those points and I earned them. The fact that one of my teammates turned up multi shouldn't mean my points should just go back to the people I got them from.

You are talking about multis being used to defeat the 4 game limit on free accounts and get around purchasing a premium membership. The game you described was a not effected by the cheat using more than one of his accounts in the same game. You deserved those points and I can see why that game was allowed to play out.

The senerio I'm talking about is a 3 player game between myself and a cheat using 2 of his mulit accounts. He has a clear advantage in the game and has utilized it. He is now just toying with me....

I'm not suggesting they delete all games. But when it is so obvious, what is stopping them? They've already done the investigation to deem him "busted". There is no one else in my game that will be effected. The cheat accounts are supposedly going to be banned and I am begging for the game to be deleted. What's the problem?

I'm a fairly new player here. I really like playing conquer club and thinking about the premium membership. Especially, after recently introducing a couple of friends, who have become hooked. Always good to have a game slot available to play against them. I would like to enter into some tournaments, which is where having more than 4 games available will be very beneficial. However, after the last couple of days dealing with this cheat and seeing conquer club's response, I'm not so sure. Cheats could certainly really screw up tournaments. I'm also going to be very hesitant to start my own games in the future.

How can a previously banned cheat be able to register new accounts, which are prevented from posting to the message board? Something with their ip address or internet presence must be getting flagged by the message board. Can that not be instituted up front to block the registriation?

By the way, for your particular game at least, it looks like he's trying to tie up your total game count by leaving your country with a 1, so I would just deadbeat.

The game I described I'm pretty sure he was premium. He was using multis to cheat, just not in that game. Obviously, he he had multis to point farm, but still wanted to capitalize on his premium.

I'm also a newer player. In fact, I joined over a month after you. I also have friends on this site and I'm playing a game against one now. I'm also in a tournament right now. I'm not sure if it is possible to block an IP, especially because you can just use a proxy and hide it. In truth, the site is doing everything in it's power to stop multis, like regular scans of IPs and such. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm just more accepting of the mod's limitations.

I agree, i think that the game should be deleted in the process. You have enough mods on here that should be able to do that. Delete the games that the ones are in. Since im in a 3 player game and its 2v1, i have zero chance.

I shouldnt be penalized for it. I wasnt cheating. I was playing by the rules. They were cheating, so i have to lose points.

In a 3 player game just delete the game. Its a easy solution.

1 of 2 outcomes should happen with multis. The multi's account should be blocked and not allowed to finish their game, or the game should be deleted. The idea of "getting points you didn't deserve" is ridiculous. In ANY game or sport, if someone is caught cheating, they are kicked out and the opposing player/team is awarded a victory. Pure and simple.

If that person is on a team with someone that is not part of the multi-partnership, then that's their tough luck. In any sport, if one member of a team is caught cheating, then the whole team loses, no matter who on the team knew about the cheating.

in my game http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=373878 the cheaters were found, but they're still finishing this turn. Because of our high rank, we stand to lose a fair amount of points. Those of us who play by the rules and have premium accounts should be the ones who get the benefit. Not someone who is a cheater.

The ACCTS should be BANNED. All the accounts.

2. the games that they are in, 2 things happen, if its a 3p game.. then it should be deleted....

if its more, then it should continue... unless they have more than 1 acct ative.

Thats all well and good but in other games/sports the other members of the team know each other. Why should some poor guy be penalised just because he happened to join a game with a cheater as a partner.

Disagree. When you join a team, you are on a team period. If your teammate is a cheat that's your tough luck. You should make sure who your partner is.

Besides, by this argument, you're pentalizing 3-4 other people in a 6 person game, while that one person is not penalized who had the teammate who cheated.

Multis end the game? Lol if that's true it's just hilarious. It's an incentive for them to keep cheating. Look at this game for example 402834.

I'm fighting against 3 multis.

this has sparked quite an interesting debate. i think the above is correct though. in a single game if a player is found to have cheated then they deffinitly should not be able to finish the game causing other players to lose points. how about the idea of no points being gained or lost. all the cheaters armies could become neutral?
if in a team game (say 2 vs 2 vs 2) a team if found to have a cheater on it the non-cheater member or the team could gain control over the cheaters armies giving them a fair chance against the other two teams of two and allowing the game to continue.
its a difficult situation and that solution isnt perfect but it would be an improvement on the current rules i think.

Yeah, unfortunately the only perfect solution is for people not to cheat. However, it seems like the MOST fair would be for when someone's account is banned, all of their armies immediately become neutral.

Received this email from the multi that I encountered and lead to me to start this thread. Supposedly his latest registered username is 'imfromspain' and you may notice he has joined in the conversation! So much for his claim that he was unable to post messages with new usernames after being banned.

Apparently, the #1 rule of conquer club is all smoke and mirrors...
