This guy just came into our BR game with racist comments. In the beginning of the chat you can see where he says it multiple times.

A word is never racist in itself, it's all about purpose and context.

He said the word nigger - a word I hear spoken all the time in jest from black people to other black people - "wassup my nigger" is an accepted way of greeting these days.

Racism is defined as:
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

I didn't see any of that in this instance - just a moron.

Anyway it's all in the context. If I say "I'm feeling gay today, I may jump with joy" I probably mean I am happy/merry, yet if I say "I'm feeling gay today, I may jump on a man and make ferocious bum-love with him" then I probably prefer the butcher gender.

A word is just a word until it is used to deliberately attempt to upset somebody - then it becomes racist. "I hate you because you are a nigger" - racist, "alright my niggers?!" - not racist.

i read the game chat and i don't think he was trying to be racist but he probably offended lots of people. does he have a history of this sort of behavior?

a stern warning if its his first time being reported for language and racism
a ban if he has continued to ignore conquer clubs rules.

There are many people who would find this racist, calling ethnic people "Colors" and all.

I agree that there is a context in which words are used, unfortunately in these PC times the use of the N word in a non racist context is hard to play off, so it's best to just not pull it out at all.

And by the way, it's "what's up my N***Ah!" (or just A instead of Ah), not N***ER when used in this colloquialism.

I have to agree with pander and snowgun on this one. He was in no way insulting anyone or even demeaning any race at all by what he said. Just because the N-word was used doesn't mean anyone should shout "RACISM!". It's all in context and how it was used, which was in a friendly tone (which I have heard many people of many races use it in).

The difference between a "a" ending and a "er" ending is negligible because what we say and type has no relationship. I say the word "Sup?" often in real-life, and almost never type it unless I'm extremely lazy.
