This thread reminded me about this page. About halfway down the page they get into the exact same argument, though focusing more on the weapon.

The best plot? I can't decide which game I've played had the absolute best, but both of the KOTOR games were pretty in-depth and kept me interested for multiple play-thoughs.

I saw a decent strategy on that map once. The player built up to about 25 or 30 armies on 1 central region, then attacked the 3 regions in from of him. He then continued to slowly creep around the board while keeping that one region full of armies.

No one was strong enough to take that region ...

Unfortunately, its hit and miss when it comes to pleasing the dice gods with it.

I'm not sure what the odds are, but we seem to have the same luck. I've had 3 turns in a game and took out only 1 enemy army while using up every single attack I could make. Luckily its a triples game and not a terminator.
