So the higher your rating, the more you have to lose in number of points in a game.

Very true, but in some games I've noticed the winner gets say 122 points and those who lost have different loss values that total up to 122.

Player 1 might lose say 38
Player 2 might lose 41
Player 3 might lose 43

Player 4 wins and gets 122

I've looked all over the website here and cannot find how they come up with the scoring system. I've been in games almost all the variants, team play, singles, assassin, terminator, standard, 4-6 players, etc and I see losers getting the same point loss sometime, variety of point loss, winners ...
